About Me

I was born in Ireland and, nurtured by a creative family environment, spent my formative years drawing, sculpting, painting and crafting my own soft toys. Being creative is, and always has been, something I am rather than something I do. I followed the traditional path of going to design school where I received a BA in Visual Communications and an MSc in Multimedia. Over the years, my journey has been very interesting and I have witnessed the transition from the print age to the digital era.
I believe in keeping up with the fast pace of new technology and design trends while remaining disciplined and loyal to the time tested principles of good design. It is truly inspiring having the opportunity to employ both traditional and contemporary mediums. Last year, I began working with Drupal CMS and was blown away with how it opens up the world of web design and development to graphic designers in particular. Traditionally, one would have to sub-contract complex functionality to programmers. Now, thanks to the vibrant, altruistic community of Drupal developers, I am a one woman show and can confidently undertake complex, community focused web projects.
My experience over the years has brought me to a place where I welcome managing all aspects of a design project, from conceptualization and design to project management and client training. My aspiration is to keep working at what I do while being inspired by the abundance of talent within the global design community. I hope to keep an open mind and allow space for growth and learning. I also hope to be able to give back to the community and plan on developing some Drupal module screencast tutorials.
